It is an annual tradition for Brestovitza to invite hundreds of guests and friends from around the country for the biggest event of the year - the worship of St. Trifon Zarezan. The festival begins on February the14th, in the village square. That is the place where Brestovitsa’s wineries will exhibit their divine drinks along with casks of wine, in order to make sure all of the festival guests will be able to try their craftsmanship. The celebratory mood will begin with the songs and dances of Brestovitza’s folk musical group, accompanied by variety of other performances to engage the audience with a unique folklore spectacle. During the same time the church will hold a festive liturgy. After its end, the priests of the church and those led by them leave towards the vineyards outside the village. They are followed by the folk ensemble, the mayor of Brestovitsa, the representatives of the wineries, the celebration guests and most of the people from the village. A ceremony at the vineyard will be carried out for health and prosperity. Everyone will bring pruning shears in order to cut a vine twig for year full of health. Those who follow the ritual believe it ensures good grapes, because good grapes make the best wine.

Trimming of the vine is made to the second bud with a slope cut. Young wine is poured where trimmed to guarantee good grapes. Wreaths are being created from the branches cut. People place them on the heads of young girls and boys, ornamented with geranium and red thread – for health and youth. After the pruning rituals the guests of Winery TODOROFF will head to the cellar to be welcomed again with sparkling wine, delicious homemade dishes and memorable celebration, including music and dances! The festival in TODOROFF Wine Cellar will continue with the traditional Macedonian and Rhodopean songs, round dances, toasts and a much fun. Among traditions and attractions, old memories and new ideas, let's once again prove our love for Bulgarian wine!
